Beyonce: My Marriage to Jay-Z a "Power Struggle"

Beyonce admits her 8-month marriage to Jay-Z is a "power struggle.

"But if I didn't respect someone, and they didn't have that strength, then I would be bored," she says in the January issue of Elle.

"I wouldn't be attracted to them," she adds.

And don't expect the 27-year-old to have kids any time soon.

"I'm terrified of having a child. No way!" she says. "I'm terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born. That traumatized me."

Little sis Solange Knowles welcomed Daniel in 2004.

Plus, "I'm only 27," Beyonce adds. "I've got time."

For now, she's focusing on her career. Her album, I Am...Sasha Fierce was released Nov. 18, and her flick, Cadillac Records, hits theaters Friday.

Playing tough talking jazz singer Etta James in the drama was a departure from her usual, sweet self, she says.

"My mom had to leave the set. I don't normally curse. Maybe twice a year," she says. "I have to be really livid. Somebody saying things or scheduling something where I'm not in control."

Using all the profanity "was freeing, but it was also the most emotionally draining time of my life. Every day I would come home; my eyes would be completely swollen," she says.

Beyonce's mom, Tina Knowles, also opened up about slapping her daughter for acting like a diva during a promotional appearance.

"My husband came up and said, 'Tina! She's got the No. 1 record on the radio!' I said, 'I don’t care!'" Tina says. "I was terrified. I had seen people take your child and turn them into something you didn’t want them to be.

"I taught my girls to pick up their own suitcases," she adds. "Pretty is as pretty does. Like my mother said, 'You got to be cute on the inside.'"

Whoa, Nelly!

The rapper – who has kept mum about his romance with Ashanti for years – is finally ready to dish.

The key to their below-the-radar relationship, he tells PEOPLE, is that they both love to have a good time.

"That's the thing between me and her, we just like having fun," he said Sunday at Las Vegas's Lavo club, where he was celebrating his 34th birthday.

Although Ashani was in Japan and couldn't attend the party, Nelly admitted that the two have been "hanging out for a minute." (That's a bit of an understatement. In fact, they've been linked on and off since 2003.)

So is it serious?

"I think it's always serious,” he said, “when you can hang with a person continuously ... and [“still”] have fun."

The Step Up star headed to Lucky magazine's Guide to Mastering Any Style party in West Hollywood Thursday night, wearing a slinky black dress and flashing her engagement ring by Neil Lane.

As for her beau's proposal in Maui last month, "I don't like to talk about it too much," Dewan demurred.

Still, she couldn't contain her enthusiasm. "I'm just so freaking happy," she gushed to PEOPLE. "It's great."

So far, the happy couple hasn't started planning their big day. "I need to enjoy being engaged," the 27-year-old explained. "With our schedules, it's so hard."

Get ready for the hipster wedding of the year.

Model Agyness Deyn and Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. are tying the knot, a source close to the couple tells Usmagazine.com.

"They just got engaged!" the insider tells Us. "It happened within the past few days."

Deyn, 25, and Hammond, 28, showed up hand-in-hand to the Songwriters Hall of Fame awards gala in NYC on June 20.

Ever since, they've been packing on the PDA throughout the Big Apple.

"They were locking lips passionately" at Noel Ashman's birthday at NYC's The Plumm, where Deyn served as DJ on July 3, says one witness.

Adds the pal: "They're really sweet. They basically haven't been apart for more than three seconds in the past two months."

A rep for Deyn had no comment. Hammond's manager would neither confirm nor deny.

"I dig Jake and Reese together," says Clifton Collins Jr., an old pal of Witherspoon, 32, and Gyllenhaal's costar in the upcoming film Brothers. "They seem happy."

And Collins Jr., should know. "I've known her since she was 17 – we used to have the same agent. She's precious. There was a rumor going around that Simon Cowell and longtime girlfriend Terri Seymour had split.

According to Star Magazine, Terri walked out on Cowell during a heated argument, and it was due to the fact that Simon was tired of Terri being so insecure. It didn't help that Simon left to go on a trip to St. Tropez sans Terri.

Kardashian is already planning her wedding to Reggie Bush - despite the fact the football ace has yet to propose marriage.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, Kardashian laughed off reports the couple is engaged, but admitted she has begun preparing for their eventual nuptials so that “whenever I get asked there won’t be any drama.”

And the 27-year-old addressed another rumor currently making the rounds - that she is to join the next season of Dancing With The Stars.

She said: “I don’t know where that’s coming from… (but) I would be honored if they asked me. I can get down (dance) in a club.”

Despite split reports, rapper Nelly and singer Ashanti "are definitely very much still together," a source close to the pair tells Usmagazine.com.

The New York Daily News reported the couple, who have been linked since 2003, recently went through a nasty split.

"I'm dating my new album, and no one else," the Daily News quoted the singer, 27, as saying.

But the source told Us that Ashanti was misquoted.

Ashanti says she worked with Nelly, 33, on her new album, The Declaration.

"He's a lot of fun, a lot of fun," she told Us after being appointed Music & Nightlife ambassador for Nassau County on Tuesday.

Jerry O'Connell & Rebecca Romijn Are 'Trying to Get Pregnant'

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary July 14, are not expecting a baby – yet!

"We're trying to get pregnant," the actor told PEOPLE Saturday at the Playboy Mansion, where he stepped out for Much Love Animal Rescue's 2nd annual Bow Wow Wow event in Los Angeles. "It would be amazing if it happened. I hope it does."

O'Connell, who says trying to get pregnant is "a lot of fun," brought along the couple's dogs Taco and Better who he called "our babies."

"It's just such a great feeling you get when you rescue an animal," he said. "They’re eternally grateful and they really trust you and they're just the best.”

Besides, he said, "Pets are training for kids."

Though the couple spent their first wedding anniversary apart – she was in New York and he was in L.A. – O'Connell says their time apart may actually help their relationship.
